to combat the cold
that has permeated the east coast
turn your ovens on.
create bread.
make soup.
roast something.
bake cookies!
these warm gems are a riff on a dear friend’s
recipe, shared years ago,
now recreated.

Indeed it is the right time to turn the ovens on! So cold!
it seems like winter will never leave!
They look lovely! I’m a fan of molasses in cookies, will check out the recipe 🙂
i’m not the biggest fan of molasses in general, but it does add something something when baked in cookie form.
OMG these look so good. Applesauce and molasses. Yes! Beautiful photos too!
thank you amanda!
I’m a huge fan of baking with molasses–it creates such a unique texture in baked goods. These look like sturdy, hearty cookies, perfect for wintertime. There’s nothing more comforting than a hot oven going on in a frigid house during this time of year. 🙂
baking is the only time i can stand molasses, and yes, a hot oven during the winter is a must!
